I honestly couldn't exercise right now if I tried. My entire body is exhausted, and I basically have no voice. I was really glad to have my "Quiet" sign for subbing today. Instead of trying other methods to get the attention of the 7th and 8th graders, I simply held up my sign. They thought it was funny, but it was effective. I told them right at the beginning of class that I wasn't going to try to compete with their voices. For the most part the students were really good and listened. Thank goodness!
My allergies are "seasonal" in nature and are definitely not liking this jump to 85 degree temperatures this week. Spring has arrived, as it usually does in Arizona, from nowhere. Surprise! The plants bloom in what seems like seconds, and it all hits like a ton of bricks.
Today and tomorrow were really busy subbing days, and I really need to be there at work. So, I'm making sure to drink plenty of fluids, taking the 24 hour Zyrtec twice a day like the doctor told me to, and I've added a decongestant as needed. Fun stuff. Thank goodness for my awesome husband. He is making dinner and taking care of chores so I can just sit and relax. I don't know what I would do without him.
Another thing I am thankful for is that both days were Field Days. Yes, I was outside, but I was also able to wear jeans and tennis shoes to work. In fact, they were pretty much required as we took our classes around to various outdoor activities all morning. Safety comes first over dress code, so that was nice. If I'm not going to feel well physically at least I can be comfortable otherwise.
Why am I so frustrated with my gym performance? Honestly, I guess I just wish I could do more. I am a perfectionist, and this weight loss just isn't happening fast enough for me. So, for today I will allow myself to feel the frustration, and I will get back on track as soon as possible. Who knows? Maybe this break is just what I needed to finally kick start a great routine.
What things are holding you back this week? Can you make changes so those things won't hold you back in the future?
