30 Day Photo Challenge- Day 9

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most

Although Daniel has been there for me through A LOT of stuff, I picked my parents because they have been there since I was born. They put up with me through my teenage years, and that alone should get them the award for the person who has gotten me through the most. My mom and dad each had a turn at teaching me how to drive, they were there through the friend and boyfriend drama, and they didn't force me to go to college directly out of high school like some of my friends' parents did.

My mom and dad let me make mistakes of my own but were willing to talk me through whatever situation I found myself in. They helped me out when I really needed it but knew when to let me face the consequences. I think I grew up into a pretty fine adult through that kind of love and guidance.

Having children was one of the biggest steps in my life, and my mom and dad have been WONDERFUL grandparents! My girls already know that if they ever need someone to help them with something and they don't feel they can come to Daniel and I, they will go to Grandma and Grandpa. My mom and dad were there to watch Andrea while I was in the hospital giving birth to Amber, and they have babysat countless times just so Daniel and I could enjoy some free time together.

Most recently, my mom and dad have offered for me to use their home for a graduation party. Finally, at the age of 36, I am graduating from college, and my parents treat it no differently than if I had followed the standard time line for this type of accomplishment. It means a great deal to me to know that this is as big a deal today as it would have been 15 years ago.

So, here's to my mom and dad- the two people who have gotten me through the most in life. I have no doubt they will see me through plenty more.
