Day 25 - A picture of your day
I found the above picture on an image search for blogging. It came from www.internetinc.com.
This picture describes my days perfectly for the past couple of weeks. Since coming down with Shingles, I don't have much to do. So, I spend my time on the computer. I have always loved to have civilized, spirited discussions with people about issues. Right now I am actually focusing more on my blog, but I've also done my fair share of debating.
I picked this picture to represent today because it is my way of letting go of some frustration that came my way today. A couple of days ago I posted a book review on "Unsinkable." I REALLY disliked the book, and I felt bad about that since I was given the book for free from BookSneeze. However, the agreement was that I would provide an honest review in exchange for a free copy of the book. When I was done, the book was mine to keep.
BookSneeze requires that the review be posted on our blogs and on at least one retail review site. I picked Amazon.com. After posting my Amazon review, I got an email from someone who was yelling at me how how terrible I was. I didn't deserve a free book, and I was a jerk for not liking the story. I wrote back and told her that I stand true to my review and we are all allowed to have our own opinions. I didn't hear back, so I hope she heard my point.
I was ALMOST ready to give up on doing reviews after that, but I decided that everyone has critics at some point. I have been raised and am now raising my children to be honest in life. I'm not going to say I liked a book just so people will like me.
How about you? Have you ever been bashed for something you've said on the internet? How did you react?
