A Place I Have Traveled

I REALLY, REALLY dislike travelling.  I don't sleep well in strange places, and frankly, I've never been in a position to really spend the money freely on a vacation.  Daniel and I have been on just a handful of day trips and weekend get aways since we've been together.  Most of those were before we were married or engaged.

One of our fun trips, though, was to Bedrock City, in Williams, Arizona.  Bedrock City apparently started out as an RV Park for Grand Canyon travelers.  That's a pretty neat place to stop!  I might actually consider traveling in an RV if that's the kind of places we could stop regularly.

Bedrock City is the home of the Flintstones.  The whole town is set up to look like stone buildings, just like in the cartoon.  I have pictures of the time my parents took my brother and me.  We were at the dentist's office.  I have more pictures of the time Daniel and I went, sitting in the school house.  My favorite part of the town is the movie theater.  They play, of course, old Flintstone cartoons.

I hope to one day take my daughters to this iconic location.  I've heard it's run-down, though, and not worth seeing much anymore.  That's okay; we'll take a look and find out.  And... if I win the lottery some day, maybe restoring the park can be my project!
