3 in 30 February

3in30 Challenge

Well, it's the start of a new month so I'm going to set three new goals.  I enjoy focusing on these items for just 30 days.  It helps to know that I can either start again or set new goals in a few weeks if what I'm doing is not working out.

February Goal #1:  Prepare tax paperwork
Ug, it's tax time again.  It's really not a big deal to gather all the paperwork and prepare for the appointment with the accountant, but each year I dread it.  I hate paying the price for someone else to do our taxes, but owning a business and having rental property is just too much for me to handle on my own.  My goal is to have the paperwork ready to go and the appointment made by the end of this month.

February Goal #2:  Walk for exercise
I've been having some good days with my feet, so we've been taking walks up to a local park.  I love it!  It's not the running I had wanted to do, but it's a start.  It's been close to a year now since I've been in a "normal" body, but I'm doing well on accepting that change.  I've found that if I tell myself our walk is just another thing I have to do it comes easier.  It also helps that my favorite birds hang out at the park we walk to.  My goal for the month is to get out for our walk at least twice a week.  (If you are new to my blog and would like to read the story of what is wrong with my feet, you can see it on the Shingles/ Nerve Damage tab at the top of my blog.)

February Goal #3:  Unpack boxes in bedroom
Even though I didn't get very far in this area last month I am going to go ahead and make it a goal for this month again.  Maybe I'll get to that area when we are off school for President's Day.  Eventually I would like to get that little corner of my bedroom cleaned up and organized.

That's a great set of goals! I put down taxes as well on my February goals (actually doing filing since I need to get to all the receipts first before I can get the form filled out for the CPA). Good idea to move unfinished goals forward rather than abandoning them.

Great goals! I am not looking forward to doing taxes, but at least I think we get a credit for having a baby last year... lol :)

Taxes and unpacking - not very exciting but necessary. Walking - a true challenge I imagine with what you've gone through.

This idea of 3 goals in 30 days is a great idea - good luck with them :-)

Harvest Moon,
I did actually abandon a couple of my goals because I noticed they weren't working. That's what I love about this challenge, though. It has really shown me what my true priorities are each month.

Sherri,
Thanks. I love the walking goal, too. I hope it will help me continue to move towards complete recovery from my stupid go-round with shingles.

Fi,
Thank you. The walking is a challenge, but I'm not quite ready to give up and give in to the idea that I have completely permanent damage in my legs. A small part of me still holds onto hope that I can rebuild the nerves and muscles and get back to normal.

I don't blame you for hiring someone to do your taxes! When you have circumstances that make it all that more complicated, why not? Love your other goals too and I really love this idea of setting new goals each month!

MA, I definitely couldn't do our taxes anymore. I would probably land one of us in jail for some problem or another! LOL

Good luck with your new goals. Im so glad I don't have to worry about the taxes... hubby takes care if that. I like the walking goal. Its something I want to do more off. I prefer to walk over other exercise.

Susi,
After almost a year of not being able to walk for exercise it feels GREAT! I see why so many enjoy it. I have been logging my workouts at www.dailymile.com and like to see what I do each week. Give it a try!

We moved into this house in September and still have boxes hiding in closets and the garage. I really should be unpacking at least one box per weekend.

Looking forward to reading about your progress.

Tami,
We also moved in September. I'm glad to know I'm not alone!
