Happy Birthday to the state of Utah! I'm not much of a traveler, but this is one place I'd like to see. Every picture I've ever looked at seems so peaceful. There are mountains of all sorts, and it just looks so clean compared to where I live. I'm sure that's great tourism advertising, though. There have got to be ugly parts, too.
Utah was the 45th state to join the United States, and it did so on January 4, 1896. You can read more about Utah's becoming a state at History.com. The article seemed to focus a lot on the origins of Mormonism, though, rather than the history of the state. A quick search of the internet proved that Utah has so many more attractions. I couldn't believe the number of state parks, zoos, and other outdoor adventures. Utah is definitely a place to visit for a family who enjoys hiking, camping, and sight-seeing!
