Sunday Surf- June 19

Each week (or at least I try each week), I bring you the best of what I've read in the blogging world. Since I love to read a variety of topics, you never know what you'll find. Please take a look at some of my favorite posts for this week.

The Raven and the Hawk Episode 5- My friend Diana is gaining momentum as she brings us her novel, episode by episode. This book is really pulling me in!

Saturday Playdate at The Life of Rylie.... and Bryce, Too!- I know, I know, this is over a week old, but I missed Sunday Surf last week. I wanted to introduce you to a great blog. I was lucky enough to be on Saturday Playdate. This is one blogger I look up to. I love her design and her posts!

Junk Food T-shirts? on amoment2think- This blog post makes a really interesting point about the message kids are getting regarding food. I had to stop and think about how I felt about this one. In the end I completely agreed with the author.

Rain- This blogger shares her experience of her son playing in the rain. I miss those days when the weather was something to be explored. My girls are already outgrowing the wonder of the world. It makes me sad.

Jennifer Lawrence IS Katniss- I LOVED the book trilogy that started with "The Hunger Games." I WILL be going to see the movie when it comes out in theaters. I loved this blog post because it featured the magazine cover with the actress who will be playing the main character in the movie. My super cool, caring friend Diana (see above) sent me a copy of the magazine. I love my friends!

13-year-old and Facebook- This was an interesting story about a post made on Facebook that got the attention of the authorities.

Well, that'll do it for this week. I hope you had a great time surfing with me. I'll see you next time!

Thanks for the list! That's one of my favorite things about blogging. You can reading something truly sentimental one minute, educational the next, then laughing hysterically on a different blog. :)

Very true. Sometimes you can do that all on one blog, too! Have a great Sunday!

Thanks for the suggestions...I have a suggestion for you: a new show called Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (Monday nights on ABC at 10pm/9c). It follows the year long journey of 1 person in 1 hour episode, so amazing to see the transformations...

I'm looking forward to reading the blog you mentioned about kids attitudes towards food...starting them off right is so important, right? Our kids follow our examples.

Have a great week! And check out the show, it's been my new "obsession" ;) http://tinyurl.com/3dzf4lk

It IS really important to start our kids off right, if possible. Since changing our attitudes toward eating, we've noticed a change in our children. They are actively making better choices. I love knowing that we made a change in our lives that will truly help our daughters live better for their entire lives.

As far as the TV show... thank you for the suggestion. I will try another episode because you give it such a high recommendation. I have to be honest, though. When I watched the first episode I was not impressed. I liked the trainer and the idea, but that first woman annoyed and frustrated me. I couldn't believe they allowed her to be a P.E. teacher at a Christian school with her being unable to move with the children. And her language was atrocious for being a teacher at a religious school. That was just something that caught my attention and turned me off. Like I said, though, I'll give it another shot this week. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always open to those!
