Saturday Nine- June 18

Saturday 9: You May Be Right

1. What is the craziest thing you've done in the last Year?
You know, I'm just not one for crazy. But the Third Thursday Adventure Run was a little out of my comfort zone. If you're a runner, you'll definitely want to read about it (click on the words). That event was a blast!

2. What is something that you've lost recently?
I lose my mind on a regular basis. Does that count? Okay, serious, what have I lost. I lost my final paycheck from my substitute teaching job. I didn't know I lost it until I found it yesterday. Oopps. In my defense I got it a couple of days before I went into the hospital for the shingles complications. I wasn't really thinking about getting the check to the bank. Then it sat in my purse for awhile... then it sat on my desk for awhile.... Come on, it was only $85. Don't make too much fun of me! LOL

3. Where does your patience suffer the most?
My patience suffers the most when I've already told somebody something, especially if it is important or if it is about plans that we have. This is mostly directed at my husband and sometimes my children.

4. Have you ever reread a book?
When I was a younger woman with much more time to read, I did occasionally reread a book. I can't remember any specifically, though. Now I have too many books I want to read. I take that back, I do reread YA books that I want to share with students or my own children. I like to stay fresh on those.

5. What is a TV show that you absolutely HATE to miss?
I don't worry about missing TV shows. That's what Hulu.com is for! I actually rarely watch anything as it airs because we forget and get busy doing something else. I love Hulu.com. Have I mentioned that?

6. How old do you wish you were?
I like the age I am now just fine. I've already been all the ages before 36, and I'm not in a hurry to be older. This works for another three and a half months.

7. Do you know your neighbors?
Unfortunately, yes. I can't stand most of my neighbors. We are friends with a couple of them, and I am thankful for that. For the most part, though, the neighbors around here are not pleasant. We live in an older area that is fairly low income, and unfortunately the stereotype is there for a reason. We have a lot of crime and people that just won't follow the association rules.

8. Do you believe that opposites attract?
To some extent I do. I don't know if complete opposites can stay together for very long, but I think it may be appealing to explore the "other side." For the most part, my husband and I had very similar views on life when we met. His "bad boy" reputation (which I saw through right away, by the way), was attractive after my "stick up his rear" ex-husband.

9. Who was the last person that made you laugh?
Is "myself" a fair answer here? I cracked myself up with the answer to #8.

Karen, you crack me up too! Love your answers here--so honest and pithy. And, just so you know, every age is the best. I think that's true for kids too--I have loved every age Ariel's been... to the point that I thought I could not possibly think that another stage would be as wonderful.... and then it was. :)

Happy Early Birthday in case you don't mention it again and I don't remember. (one of the things I've lost recently is my mind. So similar in that regard!!)

Okay, I read somewhere lately that you should put your blog title in with your name.... but that just looks dorky now that I'm seeing it. Maybe I need to change the & to and. Will try that now.

It's all about advertising, they said. Hmmmm....

Thanks for stopping by Paula. It's funny, in real life I really have no sense of humor. I don't know why it comes out here.

I have to be honest, I don't really notice if people have their blog title in with their name or not. I'm either really clueless or advertising just doesn't work on me the same way the experts say it should. I'm hoping it's the second scenario!

BPD: Thank you! I'll be checking out your meme on Wednesday. I'm following now, but I meant I'll be joining in on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it!

Mira: I'm so glad I could make your day. I'm REALLY glad I was feeling up to coming over. It was great to sit around and chat for awhile. Your place was just as comfortable as being at home. I loved that part! I hope you are able to enjoy your weekend and not worry about the rest.

Bree, did your mom ever used to tell you that you would lose your head if it wasn't attached? For some reason that just popped into my head. My mom used to say that to me all the time!

All the time!
