Five Question Friday- June 17

1. What is your favorite summer time activity?
Hmmm... this is really hard. I don't actually have a favorite summer time activity. There are a lot of things I enjoy in the winter months here in Arizona, but during the summer it's just too hot to do much of anything outside. I can tell you my least favorite summer activity. I DON'T like to take my kids swimming. I don't enjoy the pool much myself, so sitting out in the sun getting wet is just not appealing to me. Favorite summer time activity.... let's see... I enjoy watching movies with my family on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Shhhh... don't tell anyone that this is one of my favorite things to do ANY time of the year!

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever's on sale?
We buy and use All Free and Clear. Occasionally we'll buy something different if there is a great sale on another brand, but it HAS to be Free and Clear. My sensitive skin doesn't seem to appreciate the nice scents in detergents, soaps, or pretty much anything that touches my body. Interestingly, I CAN do scented lotions, except near my face. But that's a whole different topic.

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?
I don't like making any dinner any time of the year. Wow, I can't believe how much I have grown to hate cooking. My favorite summer meal, though, is tacos. I usually make taco salad with mine. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about tacos. I'm making this meal for my dad on Saturday for Father's Day. I'm not sure he likes tacos as much as I do, but he'll enjoy us all coming over for a meal. I couldn't think of anything else to get him for Father's Day.

4. Do you have any talents?
I like to think that I am a talented short story writer. Until anyone tells me differently, I will continue to believe that. You can see some of my writing on the Short Stories tab at the top of my blog.

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?
If I could instantly be an expert at anything it would be education. I have just become a teacher, and I have so many ideas on how to improve our school systems. If I were an expert, I would be heard. Also, as an expert I would be able to experiment and see if my ideas really would work. Finally, as an expert I MIGHT be able to work next school year because I would not be in front of the classroom, so I MAY be able to slide by with my physical limitations and my frustrating emotional issues. I would have to be a REALLY well known expert for that, but, hey, this is MY dream! LOL

Love the dream part! I hope you will get to accomplish it. And, as far as the expert part, I think you are a wonderful insightful writer. I always enjoy reading your short stories!

Thanks Paula. You always make me feel so good about my writing, and it encourages me to write the next one. I'm having a tough time with the story I'm writing now, but I have challenged myself so I want to stick with it. We'll see what happens!
